I picked this poem because Walter seems like a somewhat alcoholic. He drinks to escape the real world, and to forget about problems. But when he is drunk, there seems to be more problems. When his mom tells him, she bought a house in a white neighborhood, he is shocked. A man tells them they basically can't live there. But Walter stands up and fights for his rights. He fought his way to move into that new house. Walter thinks that all Ruth cares about is the eggs but he makes a bigger deal about it, then it was. I think this is just a difference they disagree on. They argue a lot about small things like this.
