"Justice does not descend from its own pinnacle" This is one of the more meaningful Purgatory quotes, not about story or character per se but morals and human nature. My take on this is that justice isn't below itself, that in finding justice it doesn't stoop below what is just.

"This mountain is so formed that it is always wearisome when one begins the ascent, but becomes easier the higher one climbs." This is about the real function of Purgatory but also reflects on the journey to being a better person, I believe. The further along you get in that journey, the easier the climb becomes.

“He who best discerns the worth of time is most distressed whenever time is lost.” This quote is cool cause it really eloquently says that the person who understands the value of time will be the most stressed at the loss of it. I think its neat cause you don't always really know the value of your time until it's spent.

“Haste denies all acts their dignity.” This is yet another human value or trait. When you rush through things and don't take your time, they lose their shimmer and quality. Somewhat ironic as I finish this project last minute.

“Thus you may understand that love alone
is the true seed of every merit in you,
and of all acts for which you must atone.” The message in purgatory is that love is a core part of humanity and what's right, that it heals you, and that it can even pardon your sins. This is a very eloquent way of saying love is what you leave sin for, and that it's what brings about goodness in people.
