Islam teaches that Allah’s word was revealed to the prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel.

Muslims believe several prophets were sent to teach Allah’s law. They respect some of the same prophets as Jews and Christians, including Abraham, Moses, Noah and Jesus. Muslims contend that Muhammad was the final prophet.

Some important Islamic holy places include the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, and the Prophet Muhammad’s mosque in Medina.

The Quran or Koran is the major holy text of Islam. The Hadith is another important book. Muslims also revere some material found in the Christian Bible. Followers worship Allah by praying and reciting the Quran. They believe there will be a day of judgment, and life after death.

I Promise to Act

The scout promise and law has guided me through my daily life as it helps me lead life with a set of values. 

The scout promise and law was introduced to me when I first joined the scouting movement and have stuck closely with me since. 

The first part of the scout promise states “ On my Honour “ which means to try one’s best and tells me to always give my all in everything I do. 

In the scout law it states “ a scout is disciplined and considerate “ which means to carefully control the way that I live and behave. Furthermore it tells me to think of the impact I can have on others. 

In conclusion, the scout promise and law guides me through my daily life by showing me how to live my life and the proper values I should live by. Although I have only stated 2 lines from the scout promise and law, they have strong impacts and meanings.

Christianity is an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. It is the world's largest religion, with about 2.5 billion followers. Its adherents, known as Christians, make up a majority of the population in 157 countries and territories and believe that Jesus is the Christ, whose coming as the Messiah was prophesied in the Hebrew Bible (called the Old Testament in Christianity) and chronicled in the New Testament.

Depending on the specific denomination of Christianity, practices may include baptism, the Eucharist (Holy Communion or the Lord's Supper), prayer (including the Lord's Prayer), confession, confirmation, burial rites, marriage rites and the religious education of children.

In addition, Christians go to church on Sunday instead of any other day during the week because Jesus' resurrection occurred on Sunday. The resurrection of Jesus Christ on Sunday is also known as the Lord's Day. Therefore, Christians celebrate the day of Christ's resurrection by praying and worshipping at Sunday services.

Religious Festivals
Easter Sunday (9 April 2023)

Easter is celebrated by Christians as a joyous holiday because it represents the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Old Testament and the revelation of God's salvific plan for all of humankind. In commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus, Easter also celebrates the defeat of death and the hope of salvation. Many Christians worldwide celebrate Easter with special church services, music, candlelight, flowers, and the ringing of church bells. In the UK people give each other chocolate Easter eggs and Easter bunnies, with Easter egg hunts taking place in back gardens all over the country.

Good Friday (7 April 2023)

Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Great and Holy Friday (also Holy and Great Friday), and Black Friday.

Christmas (25 December)

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on the Twelfth Night. Christmas Day is a public holiday in many countries, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Christians, as well as culturally by many non-Christians, and forms an integral part of the holiday season organized around it. People exchange gifts and set up Christmas trees which would be decorated with lights and bells and other ornaments.


I Promise to Act:
The Scout Promise and Law has inspired and guided me throughout my daily life.
"On my Honour, I promise that I will do my best" which means that in everything that I do, I will do it to the fullest extent of my ability. 
"To help other people and to keep the Scout Law", this line in the Scout Promise made me take the initiative to help out others who are in need by volunteering or simply teaching my schoolmates when they need help and also help my parents by just helping out to do household chores to relieve their burden.
The Scout Law shows me the values such as being trustworthy, loyal, friendly, and disciplined, setting a good example to my peers and juniors, and also facing any problems that I occur. 
Hence the Scout Promise and Law has guide me into becoming a better person.

Catholicism is practiced through religious sacraments, such as Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Confession, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony, and Holy Orders, which are considered to be outward signs of God's grace. Additionally, Catholics participate in liturgical worship, such as the Mass, and observe holy days and seasons, such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. Catholicism also emphasizes the importance of prayer, charity, and good works, and encourages devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and the saints.

In terms of morality and ethics, Catholicism is guided by the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the teachings of Jesus, as well as Church doctrine and tradition. Catholics are expected to live a life of faith, love, and service, following the example of Jesus, and to seek to grow in their relationship with God through prayer, the sacraments, and acts of charity and kindness.

I promise to Act:
The Scout Promise and law has a strong connection with Catholicism. It plays a significant role in inspiring and guiding Catholic Scouts such as myself in our daily lives. The Scout Promise and Law align closely with the values and teachings of Catholicism, emphasising the importance of service, honesty, respect, and responsibility in relation to the promise ‘To do my duty to god and to the republic of Singapore’. This shows involvement in making a commitment to serve God and one's country and to help other people at all times, aligns well with Catholic teachings on love, compassion, and the importance of putting others before oneself. This promise also reinforces the Catholic belief in the dignity of all human life and the importance of working towards the common good.

The cycle of Rebirth.
the cycle of rebirth refers to the theory that after one's passing if one was not inherently evil or lustful one would continue the cycle of rebirth and rebirth into a human or animal based on one's achievements and actions in one's past life but if one is indeed evil and or lustful one would be rebirth into pests (varying based on one's karma) or from Taoism, one would be tortured. its intensity would be based on one's karma.
Karma
Karma is the theory that states what you sow is what you reap. One's life is ever-changing based on one's actions.

I Promise to Act
The scout promise and law are like a light in a dark world, it guides me through my daily life to put in my best effort in everything I do based on my duty to God and the Republic of Singapore. It also helps me make and maintain Harmonious Relations, this especially helps me as personally I am not a very sociable person, it gives me the courage to socialize every day and treat everyone with respect and patience even if I may not know them personally. I think that the Scout Promise and Law have guided me a lot through my life so far.

The Scout promise and law has guided me to strive for improvement in my life and through how I talk to others. In accordance with the first line of the Scout Promise (On my honour, I promise to do my best),I give my all when serving others and in my studies and life. With zeal and courage, I try to do everything I am tasked to the best of my abilities, giving my all and going beyond the call of duty when needed to finish my work well. Before I joined scouting, I was someone who often lied and cheated my way out of trouble, but after I learned the importance of the Scout Law (A scout is to be trusted, a scout is loyal), I ensure that whatever I have promised is done, not compromising on what I have said regardless of how difficult or challenging the task may be. This has helped me to strive for perfection in my goals and promises, as well as ensure that I remain faithful and honest to the people around me in my life.
