1. Area Concepts- Not a priority standard in grades 3 and 4, but 6th grade standards include surface area and volume-> Identified weakness in Grade 6
2. Fractions- Language/vocabulary is important! Introduce and enforce fractions as “ratios” showing a part to a whole early on.
3. For 6th Grade – Geometry strand mentions surface area, but specific geometry standards chosen as priority do not deal with surface area (6.G.4) (13-2 and 13-3 were taken out of Learning Targets)
4. 1st Grade add money to priority standards – by 3rd grade they need to be able to count change
5. Divisibility rules lessons/activities in 4th grade are needed to make mastery of factors/multiples standard attainable for students.
