About academic integrity:-

1.There are six values of academic integrity which are Honesty, Trust, Fairness, Responsibility, Respect and Courage. Out of them, I think, most important would be responsibility. Whether there is a discussion for a group project or your lecture, its ones responsibility to reach there on time.

2.Yes, academic integrity should be practiced in the workplace as well as in academic life. Maintaining academic integrity includes honesty, truthfulness, and ethical behavior which are essential for a positive work and study environment. For example, at workplace, if i am responsible for any damages done by me, i would directly report that to my supervisor and i would be responsible for all wrongdoings whether workplace and academics are concern.

About academic misconduct:-

1.Proper citation should be given in the references part to give credit to the respective author or writer of the resources used in our research.

2.Cheating should be avoided by the students in quizzes and in exams and all the guidelines of exams must be adhered by all the students appearing for their examination.

I consider myself as a low-context communicator because i am usually direct and straightforward to my take. I usually want to make myself clear and detailed. Some examples would explain my above statement:

1.Workplace Communication: When providing instructions or feedback, I ensure all details are covered to avoid misunderstandings. For instance, in an email, I clearly state the tasks, deadlines, and expectations.

2.Social Interactions: In conversations, I prefer being straightforward. If I need to postpone plans, I provide a clear reason rather than depending on the other person to solve the situation.

3.Academic Settings: When writing essays or reports, I focus on clarity and obvious reasons. I avoid vague language and ensure my arguments are well-supported with concrete evidence.

This is about a full-time job offered to me via an email.

1.Purpose is very much clear as a full-time job is being offered to me and after that offer, i have to give an interview.

2.Audience is also limited to me because this is being sent to me with the reference of my elder brother have been working there from a very long time.

3.Information is also very clear regarding this as they contacted me formally via email for an interview round and after that i signed my employment contract on 13th Feb 2023.

4.Context is also very clear as i was trying hard to find a job to get some money to manage my living expenses. With due patience, i got my first job offer and i accepted that.

5.Additional data is there like the work phone number of supervisor so that i can contact him. But, it is not a formal way to address your seniors so i preferred email at that time.

1.Some of the internal factors are:

-Recognition and Respect: This factor is totally dependent on your efforts and how you respect the ideas and viewpoints of your peers. In our culture, the person with the biggest title in an organization will be respected by each and every employee due to the experience one has in their field. But in Canada, senior most management always have some of the employees in the lower or middle level management to oversee the viewpoints of the other employee working that organization.

-Job Security: In my culture, it is often seen at the workplace that many of the employees find comfort in their jobs due to the job security provided by the company they are working in. But on the contrary, in Canada, it is often noticed that people shift their company in order to have more exposure and scope in their future.

-Professional growth: Because of the importance of advancement in career, it is important to upscale your skills. Connecting to my previous point, because of the comfort or job security in the job, it is forgotten in my culture to gain some extra skills which are needed to improve their personal character whether it is soft skill or hard skills. It is totally different in Canadian work culture where people constantly try to gain more and more skills which can benefit them in finding a competent company in their field of specialization.

2.Some of the external factor are:

-Monetary benefits: In my culture, the major motivators of employees are their salaries, bonuses and some of the hike or increment they got with respect to their performance. In the Canadian work-culture, employee excepts to get more health and wellness incentive to concentrate more on their jobs. Team-based rewards are also given by the Canadian organization to motivate their employees.

-Company benefits: In India, there is a term called 'CTC' which stands for 'Cost to Company' which includes each and every cost which a company expends on an employee annually. It is lot more different then cash in hand which is more concerning for employees there because a huge chunk of their 'CTC' includes life insurance and benefits like provident funds which that company has to offer them annually. But, here in Canada, there is company's legal obligation to offer their employee benefits other than their annual package.

-Style of communication: The style of indirect communication in India is used to more respectful and to maintain one's harmony but it is totally different in the case of Canadian work-culture. Here, Communication tends to more direct and on to the point.

References:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/faqs/income-tax-faqs/what-is-difference-between-basic-salary-take-home-salary-gross-salary-and-ctc/articleshow/62133784.cms

According to me, three most important characteristics of system thinking are summarized below with one example each: 1.Holistic View:

Systems thinking takes a holistic view, considering the entire system rather than focusing on individual components.

Example: In healthcare, addressing public health issues involves not just treating individual patients but also considering social determinants like housing, education, and environment to improve overall community health.

2.Dynamic Complexity:

It acknowledges the dynamic complexity of systems, where elements interact in complex, changing ways over time.

Example: In climate change, the interplay between carbon emissions, atmospheric temperatures, and ocean currents creates complex patterns that evolve over decades, affecting weather, sea levels, and ecosystems.

3.Patterns and Relationships:

Systems thinking emphasizes identifying patterns and relationships rather than just isolated events.

Example: In urban planning, recognizing patterns of traffic congestion can lead to solutions that address underlying causes like public transportation efficiency and road infrastructure rather than just adding more roads.

The "Women in the Workplace 2023" report by McKinsey highlights ongoing challenges and progress in gender equality at work. Despite advancements in women's representation in leadership, issues like the gender pay gap and underrepresentation in certain sectors remain. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these challenges, particularly for women of color, who faced higher job losses and increased caregiving responsibilities. The report calls for comprehensive strategies, such as flexible work arrangements and mentorship programs, to support women's career advancement and address systemic biases.

Reference:

https://www.mckinsey.com/featured-insights/diversity-and-inclusion/women-in-the-workplace
