Learning Analytics opened my options to gather feedback that might not be observable and those that are not that direct. In addition, LA opened my eyes to how we can use the data that we collect in schools (perception surveys etc.) and how these data can be analysed by ML algorithms. This is the module that got me interested in Machine Learning. :) Thank you for your time and patience!

It is a very interesting field especially if able to be translated well into the classroom. However, the general sense seems to be that there are still alot more limitations at the moment, and applications of LA is pretty much focused on higher education or research settings rather than Gen Ed

Learning analytics involves analysing large amount of data. This used to be not possible, but now it has become possible, even with consumer grade devices. Analysis can even be done with a free app on our computers and AI can help us if we are are faced with difficulties with analysing.

It has become possible to use LA for our benefits. However, if used incorrectly, it can also be a cause harm. I think it is definitely more beneficial to use LA and we need to learn how to manage the disadvantages.

It's great to see an interest in data-driven decision-making in learning and how this field is growing. I think a lot of learnings / best practices can be transferred from other fields to further improve it, such as UX design or service designs to build systems that really create value for users.

Construct mapping can be an important indicator of the LA research rigor.

I have always struggled with construct mapping in my research when using LA. Sometimes, what can be measured is not semantically meaningful in the theoretical foundations of my study. Construct mapping is important, though difficult. Without proper construct mapping, challenges arise in further LA sense-making and action taking.
