One of the factors that caused the revolution was the estate system. This was a class system in which the majority of the responsibilities was on the lowest class (97% of pop.). This caused people to be unsatisfied with their country. Also, the peasants of society were denied many right and freedoms, which was extremely unfair to them and caused them to want to start a revolution. Another thing was the economy of France. These included the right to protect property, a free trial, and freedom of press.
