For example in her journey she goes on an extensive journey to find her parents .In the end she uses her fortune to eventually be in the right place at the right time to find her family. As  Ralph Waldo Emerson states "So use all that is called Fortune" . In addition at the beginning of the story Dory was misunderstood by her friends to as why she wanted to go on a dangerous and long expedition to find her family however Emerson implies "To be great is to be misunderstood"

When Lincoln came and wanted to abolish it Society began to see him as a radical . Although Lincoln was misunderstood by many during his lifetime now we look at him as one of the greatest presidents of the United States.
