A specialist tree survey revealed that;
  • There is significant conflict with the paving
  • The trees are creating trip hazards
  • The planting pits are no longer fit for purpose
  • There is conflict between the tree crowns and building
  • All trees showing signs of physiological stress as they have simply run out of suitable soil volume

This historic building, home to Vale Courses, an art gallery, Cowbridge History Society and many more, will be undergoing a much needed facelift in early 2022.
Key changes will include; 
  • New planting and seating layout allowing for a more flexible use area
  • New signage
  • Resurfacing the ground covering
  • Painting and restoring walls, windows and doors
  • Removal of trees and shrubs

In preparation for the loss of these trees, the Council has planted eight mature trees in the nearest viable location, this is in the field known locally as the police field, or the rugby field.
