Also because the soil has different amounts of nutrients and different sized particles. Sand doesn't retain water very well. Clay retains water nicely. Loam retains water OK.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think the properties of the soil that a plant is growing in effects the growth of the plant because the roots of a plant can only grow correctly if the soil allows the rots to by not having huge chunks of rock blocking the path of the roots.<br>Also, I think the properties of the soil effect the plant growth because only some soil types have the required nutrients and minerals to grow to be a healthy and nutritious plant to its fullest potential.</div>]]></description>
