Hi all,
I think it would help Examiners of DT if when we come across the DTs that candidates are using in their portfolios, we added them with a brief description of what they were used for to a list in the moodle to build up a picture of the DTs candidates are using and to familiarise Examiners with these DTs. It might also be a good idea if the DT theories, concepts and principles candidates are using were also added. Thanks and look forward to seeing you all on the 18th.

I think it could be useful to start padlets/threads about issues we are finding and how to address them. This could be with certain centres, or with certain aspects of evidence. So, if we were finding problems with the approach to/length of the Audit for DT, we could post our Centre feedback, or collectively come up with concise and clear advice to Centres. Another example would be exemplars of effective Observer Feedback forms (it would be great if we could request Centres receive these where there are issues, or maybe even attach them to our Centre feedback).

As a freelancer, I'm very aware of earnings. I think an issue with unpaid collaboration online is that it is time whicn isn't money! I would love to contribute more - I'm a big fan of online working - but paid work has to come first. It may be one of the reasons why it's so hard to get some 'buzz' around places like these. I've been very busy with IGCSE March entry and the PL course, which is why it's taken me several days to get around to contributing here. I'm afraid the voluntary work will always get shifted down the list...

I'm getting quitecomfortable with padlet but (and I hope someone can suggest a quick fix for this!) I can't find a way to get email notifications when somebody posts on a padlet or adds a comment. This means I have to go to the padlet wall and see for myself. It's not difficult but means remembering to check, which I don't always do. Email notifications work on IOS/ipad but not for Windows (as far as I can see)
Any ideas?

I think it would be a good idea to be able to post issues, challenges and dilemmas we are experiencing as we are marking and have the opportunity of discussing different approaches.
This can help with examiner collaboration . It is also a good opportunity to share new ideas or post interesting articles which we have come across . Finally, if we are really impressed with a centre or portfolio , we could share news .

Good choice on work for next week's meeting as they are both close calls for Fail. I would use the Padlet to ask if my interpretation was acceptable: eg
I think that the GH candidate has answered the questions on the template very well, which is sad as it means that some LOs are hardly inferable (if that is a word). The bigger weakness with this one is that it does not address the purpose of leadership dvelopment ie to improve learning of learners.
I would still give the PK one a Pass even though it is badly presented- I get the impression that this candidate has really struggled to get there but has improving the interests of learners as the aim.
Any thoughts?
See you next week,

Barb

I'm currently working on the PL course and I find it easier to have paper docs at the side of my laptop rather than pdf tabs. I have the T&L and DT syllabuses already. What do others think?

I assess the teaching and learning module. Perhaps a way of using the module to enhance consistency and standardization of assessment is to add a section of our most commonly asked questions with an agreed answer and with an example from the candidate's writing to illustrate where the question has risen from.
I have read the comments and suggestions and it's a great way of sharing thoughts and experiences so thank you.

Hi all,
I would also like the idea of having a list of the top 10 DT with a brief description. It would also be good to see the leading theories of DT.

To go further, I am a big fan of Apps. It would be very beneficial if in some time in the future, the Moodle have the option to download some audio files in to my mobile device. These could be some short key recordings from Keely or other experts in the field explaining the latest research and trends on DT in education. These will help to building further my confidence and knowledge of DT as well as I could listen to them anytime without logging in Moodle.

I also agree with Lisa and Helen that is very valuable to have a hard copy of the Syllabus, Modules Guides etc as well as the PDF.

Let's try this again ...
It occurred to me as I read the portfolios for use at the meeting that there is a striking lack of use of DT's in the submissions and this put me in mind of conversations I have had with colleagues over a number of years, where the concept of using DT's is limited to the use of Word and, on a good day, PowerPoint. So, why my lengthy post on this? Question for you all: should we, the DT PDQ team, lead by example and both use and require the use of more DT's in the completion of the programme?
I'll stand back and put my tin hat on now!
