I hop of my bed and the day starts off. My room is still dark, darker when it's a usual foggy Beijing day; and brighter on a pleasant, sunny day. The monochromatic values spread throughout all four sides of my bedroom walls and make it hard to match my outfit (turning on the light seems unnatural in the morning). In reality, the clothes are vibrant hues: the hoodie is a vivid mustard yellow and the Converse is blood red. A friend of mine always wore chokers and she didn't care what others said about her. I, then, decided to buy one of my own as if that would help me become more like her. The hat, too, was purchased because of a friend - a friend who always loved soft colours. I bought it as a gift only to realize she had one similar to it already. The shoes were something I had always wanted. They have been worn to their fullest, with the edges fraying and threads untangling. The last and final item is the alien t-shirt. I can recall countless 3AM conversations about aliens with the unfortunate people who, too, were awake at those ungodly hours, until they told me to sleep. The blouse is like the flower of the composition, the shorts are the stem that holds up the weight of the whole piece, and the belt is like the leaves that decorate the emptiness of a stem. The wrist-band is like a small flower bud that hasn't yet bloomed, portraying how sports take up a small part of my joy in school life. The shoes that are worn and frayed by my many steps are like the roots that branch out under the ground support the plant to be even stronger. The phone case is like a garden that captures the flowers as a whole.
