It consists of a series of plates on different subjects, each with a variety of black and white images relating to the subject, mostly art historical and cosmographical images from various eras, but also many modern images from newspapers, magazines and maps.

By creating plates on which images are added and removed, Wahlberg examined the evolution of symbols from ancient times to the present. These images are not only visually and meaningfully linked, they also acquire a subjective importance and together outline patterns of historical evolution and changes in human emotion.
