I learned about the International Policy of a school and really liked the idea of it being like a passport, one doesn't look at it very often, but one can't travel without it either. Today made me think about internationalism as a whole more widely and how the UN prinicples of internationalisation of young learners align with the school's level action plan. The most important question to ask is why we do things at school as that's where the motivation comes from.

For me, the aha moment was the golden circle (of the school). It's always good to reflect on yourself and your environment. The "what do we do" is clear to everyone, but here too I think you should always remind yourself of this. The second circle "how" I do it, the methodology should also be questioned again and again. Because we often tend to always use the same methods, even if they should sometimes be renewed or adapted. The innermost circle, the "why" is the most fundamental! Because only if we are clear about why we do the things we do can we teach them correctly and well.

In fact, I always try to incorporate this at the beginning of each school year with the simple question to the students: why do you think art is important?
