What Worked? Not much. What didn't? Too verbose and too meta of a point. What did my group members say about rhetorical appeals? My slogan didn't really hit any. maybe an extra line, like the one I included in my response to phase 3, would hit pathos a bit.

What rhetorical appeals will you use?

More use of Pathos and Ethos.

Use emotionally charged words such as “crisis,” “empowerment,” and “future.

How will you adapt for your audience?

For the general public: May focus more on Pathos (emotional stories, how literacy can change lives) and Logos (emphasizing broader impacts on the community and the country), with language that strives to be simple and easy to understand.

What would you change for a new audience?

For the general public, to children/young people: The language that I use would be more lively and simple, perhaps using more storytelling or interactive elements

In this mini movement compaign, I presented a video about Obama's speech that had a significant influence on me. This speech is very inspiring to young students. In terms of rhetoric, this speech conveys the pathos of inspiration. There is also the rhetoric of Logos. For instance, the reason for not getting a good score is logically not spending more time learning, rather than being stupid.

For my mini movement campaign what worked well was that it had strong points of information. That means the strongest appeal in my slide was logos. I tried to add a line that would add some pathos to my slide but I think that did not work as well as it could have. With some more smithing and maybe fine tuning exactly what I want from the slide that last line could be more powerful allowing for more rhetorical appeals. I think my biggest weakness was the wordiness of the slide. It is a lot of reading and no quick catchy imagery.

What worked for me was the slogan, as it is catchy and reflects the issue that we are campaigning for. The social media post is relevant for younger audiences, like young adults, and can be effective for spreading the word. For other audiences, like children or older people, it might not be as effective. For pathos, it might need a little work because it does not really appeal to one's emotion, and the ethos because it doesn't show my credibility.
