The day felt still, almost like someone stopped the clock of time. And at that moment I couldn't stop moving, trying to keep my mind off the elephant in the room, I had to make a choice. A really big one, one that could hurt people if picked the wrong one. It was the start of sophomore year and I just got back from my foster parents house, now staying at my brothers apartment. Trying with all my might to avoid the inevitable, going “home” to me mother. But time was running out, my brother's lease was coming to an end and so I was out of options. Now I can hear the question in your head, “why is she so against going back home to her mother.” And to answer that question, would take a lot more time than I have. So i'll just tell you this, for my mental health it was not the best option to go to my mother's apartment. Now the big choice I had to make was either to go to my mother or ask to move in with my grandmother. It was hard to choose, on one hand if I went back I would jeopardize my mental health but on the other I would hurt my mother's feelings. But ultimately I chose to go with my grandmother, and looking back I don't think I made the wrong choice.

Ariyanna Piazza, a 15 year old girl. Who was born on september 5th in Modesto Sutter Health hospital. She’s one of 4 children in the Wiley household, with one brother and two sisters. She loves doges, and baking, she's always surrounded by friends or family. And luckily she's blessed with remarkable friends that are always there for her and will do anything she asks. Though she can be stubborn, and a little hard to handle, she will always be there for the people she loves. And you can always count on her to always do the right thing. She lives a life full of love and support from the people around her and she can't be any more grateful. Trust me, I know her better than anyone else...why? Because I'm Ariyanna.

When you're surrounded by so many people, friends or family, it doesn't cross your mind that someday they might not be there for you. And at times, thinking about that hurts. That it's inevitable for you to lose the people you have grown to love and cherish. Whether it be due to a falling out, passing away, or even just drifting apart. You can't really stop it from happening. And that is my biggest fear.

So when I hear that question, “who inspires you?” The first person that pops into my mind is my older sister. And I know, that can sound cheesy but it's true. She is always there for me, our childhood was not the best but we made it work. She took care of me and my younger sister, she cooked, cleaned and helped us with homework. I don't think I could come close to the amount of resolve she had at that young of an age. And I believe that is something that will always push me to do better and she will always inspire me.

When I was only 3 months old I went into the foster system, along with my two older siblings. And for that I will always be grateful. I know the circumstances were not ideal but the outcome will always make up for it. We were given to the most loving foster parents, and I believe that I'm the luckiest person to have had the chance to once call them my parents. They took me and my siblings in with open arms and even though we left and went back to our mother we still visit regularly and they still treat us as part of the family. They are the dream parents you see in the movies or read in the books and I will always be grateful they choose to take us in.

So my foster parents are dog breeders. Pretty good ones at that, they breed Labrador rachevers and they are the proud owners of Hyspire labs. Their main goal as breeders is to show, and when spending the summer with them i learned how to be a handler for them. The first time I did handle I was terrified. I was given no training until the day before the show. And even that was just a rundown of what I was expected to do. And let's just say I was not confident in my abilities. But I proved my worries were in vain when I got out of the ring with the first place ribbing and thousands of compliments from my foster parents and their friends. Handling was so exciting and I had so much fun. I've been doing it ever since.

I've never had a near death experience before, that was until 8th grade summer vacation.I went tubing with my friend and her parents. We went out on the lake and the last ride my friend and I had was so much fun.. till it wasn't. The tube kept bouncing against the water and at one turn it flipped. Both of our bodies crashed into the water and it kept spinning. For a split second I didn't know which way was up. But thankfully we had life vests because that was the only reason I reached the surface. My whole body hurt after that and needless to say that was my last ride for a long time.

I don’t really know when it started, my obsession with nature. Maybe it was the countless hours I spent outside in the backyard when I was little.Or maybe it was the time I got lost in the forest when I was with my family camping. Either way for as long as I can remember the outside was my escape. I find all the natural colors so beautiful, and the silence so peaceful and calming.
