What I wanted to do less is ZOOM meeting with every student in every class. I think it's important to do ZOOM meetings with the same group members.

But this project was fun for me! I was able to make friends. I appreciated it.

I wanted to talk with them more on video chat. They were very nice and kind. They were proactive in bringing the team together and I appreciate that.

It was easy for me to talk about this topic that shared the current situation of sushi because we can easily picture imagine this topic. For example, What sushi shops are most famous in Japan ..

I want Mrs Kubota to increase the number of students from FIU. There were mostly  Japanese students in this programmes. It was fine but it is going to be interesting to communicate with each other if the number of FIU students increased more and more.

I would have liked to have interacted more with FIU students. We wanted to share the presentation through an online conversation together. But the time difference makes it difficult.

Other slides were colorful or used a lot of pictures. So, it was easy to understand.

Also speaking with a smile was good.

I enjoyed the COIL experience.

I really appreciate the kindness of Mr. James and the way he taught me the difficult problems in an easy-to-understand way.

I found it very difficult to translate my emotions and thoughts into written Japanese habits that are difficult to translate in English.

I wanted to further prepare and present my profile presentation.I would like to get feedback and pursue further.

There are no situations that I would like to reduce.I feel that this is a perfect class.The teacher is the reason this class is here.

Everyone is fluent in English.I thought it was wonderful that you were able to converse so well with the American team at the partner company.

Miami students designed the PowerPoint presentation, which made it easy for us to proceed.

It was difficult to communicate clearly how to create the content.

I really wanted to create one with a video for all of us, but it didn't come across well.

The same Japanese members often kept in touch with Miami students via Instagram DMs, etc., for which I was grateful!

It was fun working together to create the assignments because we were able to come up with ideas that I would not have had. The person I was working with on the assignments lived in America, so it was a good experience to see the wonderful slides that were a little different from those of Japanese people.

The easiest thing was listening to everyone's presentations and the most difficult thing was making a presentation in English. What I wanted to do more was to make a presentation in front of foreigners to make sure they could understand. 

I wanted to research maid cafes in more detail and make a more in-depth presentation. 

I wanted to explain that there are other types. I thought if I explained it in other words, it would be understood.

It was a very nice experience. Listening to people about the culture seemed strange. But, some people felt it was an interesting theme. Thank you so much!

I’ve found the COLL experience to be a unique opportunity, especially as it allowed me to connect with students from Japan, such as Koki, Kosei, and Kuga. Although the 14-hour time difference and the stress of finals week made collaboration a bit tricky, I still gained valuable insights into both Japanese and Miami college cultures. Coming from outside of Miami, I was especially interested in how the city’s diverse environment shapes student life here. At the same time, learning about the academic pressures, social dynamics, and traditions in Japan gave me a broader perspective on what college life can look like in different parts of the world.
