Some examples of feedback the I received from students and teachers:

I had many different ideas for my final piece however I had to narrow down my ideas , my first final piece is a large scale painting which consists of two A6 canvases. I had decided to have a painting of a transgender person which mainly because this was one of biggest problems within LGBT mainly because many people disagreed with the idea of transforming your gender to another gender, which I found this out mainly from the research that I had done. In the background of the left side of the painting the background is a mixture of yellow, blue , green and orange colours which I was inspired to use the colours in that style by Shin Kwangho work as it really hold and his paintings are really disfigured and deformed which I’ve used those colours because within toys for boys those would be the typical colours that you would see also I have included drugs which have been camouflaged within the painting because when people would transfer from one gender to another they don’t realised all of the drugs and procedures they will need to get , from mtf such as hormone pills to different surgeries to the body which can be a massive risk for some people .  At the bottom I have written a quote which I took from Daniel Arzola’s ‘I’m not a joke’ campaign because I thought that it was really powerful which was “ we will not be silenced”  I have also continued this quote on the other side of the painting. 

On the left side of the painting for the background I have used mainly pink and purple because within the girls toys those are the typical colours that have been used as they are feminine colours which we have been set within a certain category since we were young depending on our gender which if your girl you automatically are supposed to pick the feminism colours such as pink and if you are a boy you have to pick blue and if you picked a blue colour and being a girl people would think weirdly of you. I have also added some 3D cardboard work in the corner with the different sexualities because I wanted to show that there’s more than just being straight such as gay , bisexual , lesbian etc.

The person that I have painted is a transgender which I have made half of their face white to represent that they’re their own canvas and they are painting them self and aren’t allowing someone else to paint them because of their gender which I was inspired by James Charles who he is a gay YouTuber and creates different looks for example this one called “ blank canvas look”. 

My second final piece is a booklet which I have created inspired by Eketarina Panikonova I have created a booklet which includes pages from books that relate to love or LGBT. I have used these pages because I really enjoyed the books that I read as they have made me feel a variety of emotions from being happy about the characters to being sad and emotional. I have also used black ink and I was also inspired to use blue ink by Lisa Brice because when I read the reason why she used blue ink ink which was because of a cultural reasons that the they had a day where they would paint themselves in blue to represent the ‘Blue Devil’ which allow them to express them self as they were covered in blue and could hide behind the blue and just express their true selves. Which I used the blue ink to link it to LGBT in order to give right for LGBT people to express them self within their own skin. I had also then created a third final piece which I took 5 different book that related to LGBT or love and used ink to paint on pages using black and blue ink.
