In every epidemic, pandemic or even small health crisis we continue to see the same routines between the ordinary joe and the political leaders who decide how we live and are treated during the duration of the crisis. From AIDs in the 70 and 80s to COVID which we have been living in since 2020, the treatment of our brothers and sisters have been the same. Throughout my life I have seen the effects of being a minority during a health crisis. We saw this first with AID’s/HIV, if you were a homosexual, black man or woman, druggie, transexual or apart of the low income party your life wasn’t valued in the eyes of the doctors, political parties, scientists or cis upper class man who were too proud to give a damn. Now in 2022 I still see the effects of what these previous crises still do to society. COVID-19 has become a political war between the Republicans and the democratic parties. Black and Asian discrimination is higher than ever and the U.S police and military have failed and as unit to protect minority groups, retiring before starting the jobs on our case.

When applying this question to the COVID 19 and AIDS epidemics we do we must

first look at who is doing this categorizing. The answer is the United States Government who are the biggest ‘blood suckers' of the poor that there are. They only

want a select few to have the power of truth along with the light that it brings. The

power that the truth contains is the opportunity to manifest that truth and bring that

mental awareness into physical fruition. Once you have done that you can either use

that power for two things either to free someone or enslave them. And keeping the

truth limited to only a few people creates a dynamic that allows for the people at the

top to keep the light only for themselves and leave everyone else or the common

man in a spiritual darkness. Witch makes them deaf, dumb, and blind so they will be producers of nothing for themselves and all of their work and collective energy will be siphoned to their slave masters. And because of this they are inept towards their own self and kind because they are being manipulated through their ignorance and are contorted at will by the slave makers. This is how the United States and everyone who works alongside them operates.

There are alot of things that can be led into the topic of Racism. For instance, racism can lead to less healthcare access for people of color and can lead to more hate crimes. Along with assault and Death, during the AIDS/HIV pandemic and the COVID-19 pandemic there’s been a rise of hate crimes and more diversity among the citizens. Due to racism healthcare access could be hard on people of color, and they could get denial of care. -Nadiamonique,Aeda, Bae Meh, and Sarah

During the AIDS/HIV epidemics people were sorted and categorized in many different ways. The evidence from both epidemics show that when people are categorized, all the problems that need to be addressed aren’t getting the proper attention that they need. During the Aids epidemic, one specific group of people was targeted which caused the nation to suffer due to people ignoring the problem at hand. With COVID, Asian Americans were targeted, which caused people to worry more about the next insult they were going to say to Asian people than the virus at hand. When people were sorted, it meant we were all divided and pinned against each other. Unfortunately, when we’re pinned against each other, we can’t conquer the things that need to be conquered. We instead, fight and worry about the non-important things.

in the epidemic for both AIDS/HIV and COVID-19, people started to divide when a certain group of people starts getting the disease, by certain group I means like a certain race or sexuality. Taking Covid for example, it stated in China and the government started to call it the Chinese Virus and because of this people started to have hate towards the Asian community in both verbal and physical way. the same goes with the AIDS/HIV epidemic, they had hate towards the gay community because they were not "normal". they the people need to put blame on someone because they think someone has to be at fault and they blame it on the people who are different from them. to some, being different is bad, it means you're not normal and you dont fit in with others so they use that difference and rule them out by putting blame on them.

What happens when people are sorted and categorized during a health crisis? In the case of the AIDS/HIV epidemic, the people in charge of handling the crisis sorted people by their sexuality and saw it as a “Homosexual Only” problem. This caused Homosexual people to not get the attention they needed. It took the death of someone famous to alert and wake up people of America to the threat of AIDS. The Reagan administration failed by not funding scientists to research aids. Scientists did not devote attention to it because they saw little prestige to be gained in studying a homosexual affliction. The public health authorities and the political leaders who guided them refuse to take the tough measures necessary to curb the epidemic spread opting for political expediency over the public health. Gay community leaders weree to busy with their political dogma and put politics over lives. Finally, the media did not like covering homosexual stories.

In a lot of pandemics people of color would be put on a low standard and they would be treated like they were useless because of the color they were born with. In the Aids/Hiv pandemic people were categorized and the disease was sorted as a Gay/homosexual

When Covid-19 hit, the war began with racism. People say that the Chineses created the virus. People with color have to stay with their group, group people might get AIDS/HIV infection with people of colors.
