Speculation about CRISPR research can be both optimistic and cautious. On one hand, it can be heard that CRISPR can have revolutionized medicine by curing genetic diseases and making personalized medicine more accessible. It is also speculated that CRISPR could have improved agricultural productivity by creating more resilient crops. However, it must be noted that CRISPR must have been misused in some cases, raising ethical concerns such as the creation of designer babies or new forms of biological warfare. Additionally, some speculate that CRISPR could have caused off-target effects, leading to unintended genetic mutations. Therefore, rigorous oversight and ethical considerations must guide CRISPR research and its applications.
