The beginning of the semester was really hard for me mentally but it also allowed me to look within myself and focus on me. I connected with an old childhood friend of mine, she helped me open up and be comfortable with myself and my position in the world. I used to put everyones feelings before mine. Being away from home and not being around family, I have learned that I need to start putting my feelings first. I've also learned I am a very independent person and that everyone doesn't have the same mindset that I do and thats okay. I've grown to be okay with being different. I've also learned that things don't just come to you. If you want something, you have to go get it yourself.

I have learned just how important breaks are for your mental health. Growing through a whole school year without breaks has been an incredibly challenging year.
