         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Purpose of adaptation:&nbsp;<br>A1 - to cope with physical conditions<br>A2-&nbsp; to survive in their natural habitat.<br><br>Write up:&nbsp;<br>The camel is often known as ship of the desert, as it is able to survive the harsh conditions of the desert.&nbsp;<br><br>They have long eyelashes that shield their eyes from the strong winds in the desert and the nostrils can be closed to block out the blowing sand.&nbsp;<br><br>The broad, flat leathery pads at the bottom of their hooves allowing camels to walk without "sinking" into the sand.&nbsp;<br><br>Camels store fats in their humps, enabling them to go for days without drinking or eating.&nbsp;<br><br><br>Done by: John Doe (45) &amp; Jane Roe (42)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Purpose of adaptations: <br>A1 - to cope with physical conditions <br><br>Write up: <br>The lizard is able to run 20 times its body length in one second. <br><br>But when it rests, it must dance to keep from burning on the boiling hot sand. <br><br>The dancing reduces the amount of time it stays in contact with the hot sand, and surface area in contact with the hot sand, hence reducing heat gain from the hot sand, and preventing it from overheating.<br><br>Done by: Charles Tan (08)</div>]]></description>

         <title>Blob fish</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>A1)"Unlike most fish, they have no swim bladder to help maintain buoyancy.... The blob fish’s blancmange of a body is less dense than water, allowing it to drift passively above the seabed.They then realised long ago that this does them no good,so they tend to remain almost, if not entirely, still. Like other lie-and-wait predators, blob fish stick around until anything remotely edible floats into their open jaws, then suck it in."<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blobfish#cite_note-2"><sup>[2]<br></sup></a><br></div><div><br> The flesh of the blob fish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Density">density</a> slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming.
