Point of view is the perspective an author chooses to tell the story from. Different types of POVs aid in enhancing a story. "The Chrysanthemums", for example, is written in third person, so that the reader better understands the personality of each character.

1st person: the story is told by one of the character within it, the narration is the "first person". Author uses pronouns such as 'i' and 'me'

An example of this is A&P by John Updike, he uses the 1st person because he uses pronouns as I or Me. As the reader we see his perspective of things and what he wants us to see.

For example, in "Eumenides in the Fourth Floor," the author uses the word "he" while also describing one characters feelings and thoughts to show a Third Person Limited point of view.

example, if were to write about someone else, that would be 3rd person, either limited or all knowing.

This was seen when we read about Howard and the crazy baby moster that haunted him ( 3rd person limited because only Howard's emotions were known)

Example: In Desirees Baby the reader knows how everyone is feeling and thinking.
