For my senior summit project, I will be actively engaging and teaching young baseball athletes. My overall goal for my project is to inform and raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and physical activity. The goals that I have for my project is to hold a meeting/gathering with many young baseball athletes and parents, to teach them about nutrition and physical activity. Baseball has been something in my life ever since I was 5 or 6 years old. As I am getting further into my baseball career, I have been able to learn more about how important it is to maintain physical activity and nutrition. This benefits not only myself, but other young baseball athletes who stride for success and wanting to do whatever it takes to become a better athlete. Throughout the year I will have multiple mentors who will teach and mentor me about nutrition and physical fitness/activity. This is something I can take advantage of to further help develop myself as not only an athlete but as a person. Throughout my whole career playing baseball, I have learned a number of things from what to eat and what not to eat, how to stay healthy, how to stay fit and in shape to maintain an athletic form. Using this knowledge will help me through the whole process of this project. My success at the end of the project/year will to teach and further advance my knowledge to younger athletes so that they can strive and set their own personal goals.

From December to February, I have baseball clinics three days a week for two hours each day. From 6-7pm , I would have a hitting clinic and then from 7-8pm, I would have a velocity clinic. If I add up these hours, it would equal to about 22 hours. During these clinics I would get one on one instruction with tons of reps which is really beneficial. I would also get stronger as well, since we do strength and conditioning sometime within that hour.

Last Saturday 4/2/20, I spent 2 hours preparing pre and post workout meals. Some of the meals were nutrition based, meaning I made sure that I was including each food group. For example, I took grilled chicken, cut it up, and put it in bags with some vegetables and some fruit. This took my total up to 24 hours for working on my project.

In the mornings right after I wake up, I usually go and try to workout at the gym. Due to the coronavirus and having a stay at home order, I'm unable to do what I am normally able to do. At home, I've had to improvise and use what I can. I normally try to workout for about an hour and a half before I go and eat breakfast. Since I've been working out at home, this has well put me over the 25 hours required to work on my senior summit project.
