A lot of resources go towards things that will benefit the higher ups for profit. Compared to the statistic our author showed, 1 in 17 white males will spend time in prison... That's more than 5x the amount of black people being incarcerated. Nearly half of the prison population in 2015 were incarcerated for nonviolent drug, property or public order crimes..
