One thing I started doing a few years ago is putting a number before the folder name when organizing things by months. So like for an October 2024 board report I would name the folder 10 - October. That way the folders get organized in numerical order instead of alphabetical.

If you have people in your contacts, but also need to remember where you know them from, put their company in their name (depending on how the names in your contacts would determine where you put the company name. Ie - if your contacts are sorted by first name, enter the company name in First name BEFORE the person's name.) This will also help keep the contacts from the same company together. **Can be applied to documents about companies as well, if you have multiple company docs in one folder
