         <title>Proclamation of 1763</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Explain the act: </strong>The Proclamation of 1763  happened after Britain and the colonies beat the French in the French and Indian war. Once they won the war, they got more land but would not let the colonists go past a imaginary  line into the land they just took over.<br><strong>Why Did the British pass this act?: </strong>The British passed this act so they could keep peace with the natives.<br><strong>How did the Colonists React?:</strong> The colonists reacted by being mad because they risked there lives for a war that  gained them nothing.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Explain the act: </strong>The stamp act of 1765 was when all the colonists had to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.<br><strong>Why Did the British pass this act?: </strong>The British passed this act  so they could earn back money lost in the French and Indian war.<br><strong>How did the Colonists React?:</strong> The colonists reacted by hanging and torturing an effigy of the stamp distributor and others protested.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Explain the act: </strong>The Townshend Act was when the British made all imported goods be taxed. The tax had to be payed when goods arrived to the colonies. <br><strong>Why Did the British pass this act?: </strong>The British passed this act so that they could make more money from the colonists .<br><strong>How did the Colonists React?:</strong> The colonists reacted by thinking Britain was abusing their power. This act was later called the tea act. One of the side affects of this act was the Boston Tea Party.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Explain the act: </strong>The quartering act was when British Soldiars were provided with housing. The colonists had to provide food for them.<br><strong>Why Did the British pass this act?: </strong>The British passed this act to protect their soldiers. Also it made it so that the British did not have to pay to feed them.<br><strong>How did the Colonists React?:</strong> The reacted by disputing if this act was legal. Tension grew between the colonists and Britain because of this act. </div>]]></description>
