Do you find the idea of popular music concerts as sites of religious or spiritual experiences convincing? Why or why not? How do your own personal experiences at popular concerts and festivals factor into your arguments?

Many people spend money to go see their favorite artists in person. Music concert goers want to experience something new. Some even seek for a religious or spiritual experience. I do find this idea of popular music concerts as sites of religious or spiritual experiences convincing. There is no official way to determine what constitutes as a religion, so people can determine if they have personally experienced some sort of religious or spiritual happenings when attending a music concert. I don't believe that others can tell other people that they did not experience religious or spiritual feelings when attending a music concert. I think it is very personal and should be determined by oneself because you attended the concert for yourself not for other people.

For example, I attended a twenty one pilots concert a couple years ago and the experience was one of a kind. I the feeling is hard to explain, but it's a feeling that you wouldn't be able to experience any where else. I would definitely describe it as an almost spiritual experience. I have also attended a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert as well. I believe this music concert was even more spiritual to me and others that went as well especially since some of the songs were religious and put the audience in the Christmas mood.

In conclusion, based on my own experiences with popular music concerts and my own opinion, I am convinced that popular music concerts are sites of religious and spiritual experiences. These experiences will also be different for each individual. No experience will be the same.

This quote is by the English composer Frederick Delius. I think it really resonates with what I believe music does for people especially those that attend music concerts. People are able to express themselves and be who they want to be.

By going to a music concert you can't help but feel something. Sometimes there aren't any words to describe your feelings and emotions. I believe it's just a thing that someone has to experience for themselves. Below is a video of Daniel Caesar performing live.

It's hard not to look at this gif and not believe there has to be some type of religious or spiritual experience when going to a music festival or music concert. Music is truly moving and can make you feel emotions that otherwise you would not be able to experience.
Credit: www.youtube.com
