First, Wiley escapes by getting his dogs to chase the Hairy Man away, next he tricks the Hairy Man into turning into a possum, and lastly, his mom tricks the Hairy Man into going away if she gives him her "baby" which turns out to be a baby pig. Wiley's mom even says that if you trick the Hairy Man 3 times, he will leave you alone. This is also a component in various traditional stories and gives the idea of 3 times the charm because it comes up many times in different traditional stories. The picture below shows the power of 3 which happens in many traditional stories. In school, there is a new girl named Stargirl, and the ways she acts and the things she does make students at Mica High School question if she is a real student or an actress used to excite the kids to have more school spirit. But then, Leo realizes that its not an act, its her real personality. "It was during one of these night moon times that it came to me that Hillari Kimble was wrong. Stargirl was real." The text says "Best hope it's not," he said. "The trouble with miracles is, they don't last long.". This could predict what could happen in the story because when Leo is talking to Archie about the new student Stargirl, he mentions that she is a miracle that came to their school because she is making them more involved and wanting to go to school more than they ever have in their whole lives. But then, Archie says that she better not be a miracle because they don't last/stay long. I think this could mean that Stargirl is in the process of making Mica High a better place, but once she's done, she might leave. The question was, "Whose affection do you value more, hers or the others?". This affects him because he then says, "I realized that in fact I understood the question perfectly. I just didn't want to answer it." I think this Words of the Wiser is important because Leo now realizes that according to Senor, he  may have to choose between Stargirl or the people of the school. I feel like he will choose the affection of the entire school because he doesn't like much attention and that's what he's getting because of dating Stargirl.
