How did power come into play? It comes into play with Kid who thinks he has the power to basically cheat on Liz with another woman to teach her a lesson in his eyes. He must think in a way since he is the president of the Small Hours Social club he can do what he likes, he could assume that he is better than Liz in a way since he appears to be better dressed and richer than Liz. "I wanna teach Liz a lesson. She thinks I belong to her."
Is it corrupting the characters of helping them? It corrupts him in the end. He ends up taking Annie with him to the dance and this leads to Liz killing him.
What qualities did the main character have that helped or hindered them? She had a bad childhood. Her father had neglected him and this led to him

How did power come into play?
You have Mary who was able to have the power to murder her husband. She did it as a last resort to keep her husband from leaving her and her unborn child.

Is it corrupting the characters or helping them?
It isn't exactly corrupting her because she was doing it for a good cause. She was doing the things she did for the well being and safety of her and the unborn child. But then again we don't exactly know why her husband is leaving her.

What qualities did the main character have that helped or hindered them?
Her husband had been a member of the police so she knew just the way to kill him and get away from it. She also had the ability to make the other cops feel sorry for her. You can tell she knows what she is doing by the quote "and in the other room Mary Maloney started to giggle."

How did power come into play?
You have Macbeth who has been told by 3 witches that he is going to be the king and that fuels his desire for that role. Once he has told his wife about this Lady Macbeth convinces him to kill the king. He then goes on to get his own best friend and many others killed including Macduff's wife and child.

Is it corrupting the characters or helping them?
Not only does it corrupt Macbeth but it also corrupts his wife. You can tell that it is killing her with the scene were she is sleep walking and trying to get the blood off her hands. Then you have the moments where you have Macbeth seeing daggers and the ghost of Banquo.

What qualities did the main character have that helped or hindered them?
What hinders Macbeth is that he is kind of going crazy as time goes on ever since he met the witches. What doesn't help is that you have is wife breathing down his back trying to convince him to kill and try to keep them in their position of power. The only issue is the people are starting to not like Macbeth because of the way he acts as king.

How did power come into play?
It would seem that in the past Ozymandias was a ruler in his time period. So he was in the highest role of power he could get. You can tell this because a statue of himself that is now destroyed.

Is it corrupting the characters or helping them?
The power that he had must have corrupted him. It reads on his statue "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings!" This obviously points to the fact that he thought he was better than everyone else around him. The statue also basically tells people to look at all the thing he has done and feel shame since they hadn't done such amazing things.

What qualities did the main character have that helped or hindered them?
His arrogance is something that could have hindered him. You could assume that the statue of him was destroyed since he was a mean and harsh ruler potentially. The people of his time may have wanted him out of power because of the way he may have acted.

How did power come into play?
The man was a king of sorts and he used to have the power to rule things but it seems that now he has lost that power. It also seems that he realized that the power wasn't everything and that it wasn't what it was all cracked up to be.

Is it corrupting the characters or helping them?
It looks light it may have corrupted him when he was in control. Because there is the line "people couldn't believe what I'd become, revolutionaries wait for my head on a sliver plate."

What qualities did the main character have that helped or hindered them?
He now knows that he had become corrupt and that would have hindered him in the past. But know that he has that experience and knows what he did wrong he can work on improving himself so he is more liked by people again.
