A new lens for me was finding methods to mitigate some of the biases I bring to my teaching, by inclusion, adjusting language, creating assessment formats that allow for varied learning styles. It's an ongoing process to continue exploring. - Joni Koehn

Particularly, a self-awareness about racism and implicit bias. Also, learned about some of the responsibilities that educators can take to include the CR pedagogy in the course curriculum to confirm inclusivity and diversity.

I was a little girl in Florida when bussing began, and we were told that it was important to integrate the schools, and mix black students with white. If you've ever seen news reels, it was quite tumultuous. Frankly, the 'black' schools were in low-income areas and the 'white' schools had more funding and more resources for students..... today, it's not just about color. We are looking at microaggressions felt by gender identity, sexual orientation, first-gen, 'handicapped populations, interfaith restrictions.... this was a wonderful workshop to open up the boundaries of cultural diversity. Thank you - Brigitte
