The Sovereign Bodies Institute, an Indigenous-led research organization has helped by tracking missing and murdered woman, by compiling data submitted by talking to families community members, and retrieving information from newspapers, social media, historical archives, public records, and missing person databases. 60% of cases are homicides and most of them never get solved.
