I define music as a mood setter, meaning there is always a relatable point in whatever you may be listening to. If your are in a great mood and you listen to optimistic music the outcome of that is that it will influence positivity in your day. I use music to start my day, depending on the mood that I wake up in that determines the type music I listen to as far as artist and genre. As my day goes on more than likely there will be a shift in genre just because I need a new sound. My music is very diverse, if you were to open my Pandora you would see everything from Hip-hop, R&B, to Country and Pop among many other sounds. The sound that I'm most attracted to you right now would have to be a mixture of R&B and modern Jazz because I believe that genre is just so mood altering and it's the type of music that you can really connect you if you just sit there close your eyes and listen. The meaning behind music to me is self-expression constructed from many different sounds and it all comes together, and the great thing about that is you can listen to one song 100 times and find something different each time.

"The whole point of Acid Rap was just to ask people a question: does the music business side of this dictate what type of project this is? If it's all original music and it's got this much emotion around it and it connects this way with this many people, is it a mixtape?... What's an album these days, anyways?"
~ Chance The Rapper

“Soul music is true to its name, it's music that connects to your soul, your spirit. When music resonates with people’s spirit like that, when people can emotionally connect with something or it helps to heal them, transform them, that never goes out of style. People will always need something to relate to. They will always need encouragement. They will always need truth.”
~ Andra Day
