Dr. Barkley is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Virginia Treatment Center for Children and Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Richmond, VA.&nbsp;<br>2. http://www.drhallowell.com/ Dr. Hallowell is a child and adult psychiatrist and the founder of The Hallowell Center for Cognitive and Emotional Health in Boston Metro West, New York City, San Francisco and Seattle. He was a member of the faculty of the Harvard Medical School from 1983 to 2004 until he retired to devote his full professional attention to his clinical practice, lectures, and the writing of books. He has presented to thousands on topics such as ADHD, strategies on handling your fast-pace life, the Childhood Roots of Adult Happiness, how to help your employees Shine, ADHD and Relationships and other pertinent family and health issues. Define the condition or syndrome you have selected. More than one source is necessary. Identify different points of view? For example, medication? What is attention deficit disorder? According to Douglas Mental Health University Institute, ADHD is a neurobiological disorder that makes it difficult for people to control their behavior and/or pay attention. It is usually diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Available treatments are adapted to meet the needs of the individual child following a biopsychosocial assessment. Treatments include specific medications, psychoeducation, social skills training, special supervision at school, and individual psychotherapy. According to Psych Central, ADHD is a condition characterized by a group of symptoms centered around a person's inability to sustain focused attention on a task, avoiding such tasks, and being easily distracted. It may also include impulsivity and hyperactivity components. Treatment for ADHD has two important components: psychotherapy interventions and medications. According to the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), ADHD is characterized by a “persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity or impulsivity that is more frequent and severe than is typically observed in individuals at a comparable level of development.”&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;They demand attention by talking out of turn or moving around the room They have trouble following instructions, especially when they’re presented in a list, and with operations that require ordered steps, such as long division or solving equations. They often forget to write down homework assignments, do them, or bring completed work to school. They often lack fine motor control, which makes note-taking difficult and handwriting a trial to read. They usually have problems with long-term projects where there is no direct supervision. They don’t pull their weight during group work and may even keep a group from accomplishing its task.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;The Attention Deficit is considered as a Transitory Special Educational Needs. For this reason, the diagnosed students with this syndrome can be incorporated into the Programa de Integración Escolar (PIE), therefore, schools will receive specialized support to work with these students (ADHD), and schools will receive an additional monetary subsidy. The schools may not cancel or deny the enrolment for Attention Deficit Students. The General Education Law indicates that neither the state/government nor the schools will be able to discriminate students and other members of the educational community.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;In the United States they have two specific laws in order to help children with special needs. The first civil law called “Section 504” this says that if your child is diagnosed with ADHD or other disabilities, this prohibited the school from discriminate your children and make some accommodations in the curriculum for the student; its main purpose is to prevent discrimination against disabled students. The other federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), mandates that eligible students receive access to special education and/or related services, and that the services are designed to meet each child's unique educational needs. In the Finnish school system have a reform for special education that consists on a program of a three-level intervention model defined as “Learning and Schooling Support”. The first level, referred to as general support, consists of every action made by the regular classroom teacher in terms of differentiation as well as in terms of school-wide efforts to meet the diversity of students. The second level consists of remedial support by the class teacher, co-teaching with the special educator. The third level consists of the whole continuum of special education services from full-time general education to a special school placement and is mostly equivalent to the traditional special education for students&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
