John rock was a sophomore at Gardener Webb a college in the footprints of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He really started to think about life after high school and his freshman year he red shirted the NCAA thought that he was the perfect student athlete. This is because he was a great person in the school and out. One day he got offered an internship in Raleigh for the spring semester. His coaches said that this was fine and then he went off to Raleigh happy. When he got back was a different thing they revoked his scholarship for another quarterback. He said ¨It was like a punch in the stomach¨ (206). In the summer he got a hearing about this but nothing happened. Rock was a key piece because it happened to multiple people.
