If I was asked 15 years ago, where did I see myself now, there is no way I would have said:"Carrying on my Residency as a Teacher in this school".

That's right, I'm teaching in the school that once upon a time saw me run, grow up, learn, shaped me into who I am today.

So I couldn't be happier to have that chance to share this wonderful profession side by side with teachers that not too long ago were my role models.

First of all I planned my lesson, which was review by Aurelia and by the Head of the English Department in Siglo, Miss Miriam. It's worth mentioning that Miss Miriam has been a great sport trough out this process as she pushes me to be creative and good at my job.
For this lesson, and since is the last part of the year, there is a lot of pressure to finish the book the students are working with "English 2 Explorer" by Nat Geo.
Thus I planned my lesson "Sports and Games" following the book.

For this lesson, students had to read a short text about an expedition to Mont Everest, and the topic was "expedition food".
Here we gained new vocabulary related to food, and countable/uncountable nouns.

The two other topics related to grammar that we studied that class were "must/mustn't" and can/can't. But the had exam so, we only had one hour to review previous content and access new.

At the end of the day, the students had their "Unit Exam" that involved:
*Use of Superlative and Comparative adjectives
*Animals from Africa
*Shopping expressions.

For this class, once again, I had an observer, Ceci Zamborain was there again to watch me!
Even though the idea made me nervous at first I highly value her presence and her feedback. In all reality for the majority of the class I forgot that she was there!
The class went smoothly, of course with the kids being a bit rebels at times, but not too bad.
I should admit that having "special needs" cases in the classroom is not always easy... In total I have 2 kids that are counted as "special needs planning" and 2 kids that have never studied English, so the 4 of them need special attention, to avoid frustration and lost of motivation. However this isn't always easy, because the majority of my kids have a very good English level...
At times I feel like I don't pay enough attention to the rest of the class, but there is only so much that one person can do, right? And this is only my first experience teaching, so I can only hope to gain more knowledge and teaching strategies as I grow into this marvelous profession.

In this first experience as an Elementary teacher, I felt super motivated... Do you want to know why?
Because I'm working with my class! Yes! As it turns out I'm carrying on my practice as an English Teacher with the children I teach on regular basis. In fact this is a funny story, a few time ago, I went to Siglo XXI because that's the school I graduated from and I thought it would be a great place for me to practice, and as it turned out while I was doing an interview to talk about my practice I was offer a job position !!!! And here I am, Teaching my kids and practicing!
