One significant challenge I faced was learning a new skill—public speaking. Initially, I struggled with stage fright, nervousness, and self-doubt. Speaking in front of an audience made me anxious, and I often felt like giving up. However, I knew that improving my communication skills was essential for my personal and academic growth.

What motivated me to keep going was the belief that progress comes with practice. I started preparing thoroughly, practicing in front of friends, and gradually gaining confidence. Over time, I became more comfortable, and after successfully delivering a speech in a competition, I felt proud, accomplished, and relieved.

This experience connects to the mother’s advice in Mother to Son by Langston Hughes. She encourages her son to keep climbing despite hardships, just as I had to push through my fears. Like the mother in the poem, I faced difficulties but refused to give up, proving that perseverance leads to growth and success.
