What if we differentiated instruction for all students, kindergarten through 12th grade? What kind of person would we graduate from our school?

Students would have an arsenal of authentic experiences to call upon. They would be confident, self-directed

I think they would feel like they have reached their full potential. I think they would be more driven in their lives.

At least one student would slip completely through the cracks and never has his/needs met.

We would never meet the needs of all of our students.

Absolutely! That's part of the reason students are presented with so many different types of content. That's what helps them decide what to pursue as a career. (CJ)

Of course, it is! So why not make our classrooms like the real world? This is not rocket science but rather common sense. We need more common sense teaching. (Md)

My teachers did not differentiate when I was in school (Sherrie)

I went to school a long time ago. (sg)

I did all the same assignments as everyone else in the classroom

I remember doing all the same assignments as all the other students (KW)

My teachers lectured and we took notes. (Lisa)

I also remember just taking notes. My English 4 honors class was differentiated and I remember how much of a positive impact that class had on me. (AF)

I don't remember much differentiation. I do remember getting bored in many classes because the content was easy and I didn't need as much repetition (CJ)

I do not recall seeing differentiation in my classes. The only things that I saw was group/partner work. (Patience)
