Quinn is a witness, and has to face a decision; to face the problem or to run from it. After Rashad's hospitalization, they arrange a protest to promote justice. That's when the book ends, when Rashad and Quinn both meet at the protest. There is more to the story outside of the book. Paul was not heard from again in the book, but if it were to play out in real life, Paul would've first been fired or suspended from his job. Then the legal issues will come into play. Police brutality cases from real life, like the death of George Floyd, serve an example of what happens to the murderer, and is where we can get a prediction as to what happened to Paul. Rashad's family can sue the police officers, as it is possible to be sued for excessive force. He is the main reason that Rashad ended up in the hospital. After the protest, I believe that officer Paul Galluzzo should either go to court. I say this because there is more than enough evidence in the book that can put Paul in Jail. First, there were witnesses at the beat-down scene. We can rely on Rashad if Paul was ever going to court because he was the one who got beat. In the book, it said that Paul kept saying "Stop resisting, stop resisting", although Rashad wasn't even moving, although he couldn't either way. Another important witness that was at the scene was Quinn. Quinn was beside Jerry's when he saw Paul put Rashad on the ground and was beaten brutally. Police brutality cases can cause a big impact in the U.S, for example with George Floyd case, was about an unarmed black man who was basically choked to death. Although Rashad wasn't killed, he could have been killed. Rashad's family could sue Paul and they might as well sue the police force that was working with Paul because they could blame the police force for making Paul do actions like this, but most likely won't happen. Quinn is a witness of the event and is put into a dilemma between staying loyal to the Galluzzo’s who is one of his long-time friends - and family even - or speaking up for what’s right, betraying the Galluzzo’s and people who are on the Galluzzo’s side. The story ends with us not finding out what happens to Paul. If the story were to have some kind of sequel starting off on what happens to Paul. I would think that Rashad’s family will proceed with suing Paul. This will start some more issues between Quinn and Guzzo, and make the basketball team divide and choose sides between Paul and Rashad. Rashad’s family will likely end up winning the case because, in the book, there was mention of a video being present. With media evidence being present there’s no way that Paul could claim that he didn’t do anything to Rashad. Like in the George Floyd case, with there being media evidence it will make things easier to convict Paul and bring more attention to the case as well. Another thing that could happen is that Quinn could actually testify as a witness to what happened since he saw what happen with his own eyes (and hopefully, hopefully, Rashad and Quinn can meet). This can cause some more conflict between his Mother and Guzzo. The lady who Rashad tripped over might also testify as a witness (just to put it out there) and could possibly help clear things up, and say that it was an accident. Rashad is put into a hospital, and is seriously injured for the next few days. Part of me does believe, if this were to play out in real life, absolutely nothing would happen. I only say this because, in recent and past events, many policemen were able to get away with their horrible actions. But, I do believe that either way, Officer Gazlluzo should be put on trial. There is far more evidence to conclude this statement. One, this incident was all over the news with many witnesses. Quinn, who is a white high school student, was there at the incident, witnessing it happen. Two, in the story, Officer Galluzo kept saying to Rashad to stop resisting...Although Rashad was not resisting. He was practically not moving or breathing at all. In recent events, George Floyd was a Black man who was unarmed. He was brutally choked to death by a white police officer who was later tried and convicted for his crimes. This incident could be a main prediction of what might happen to Paul. Although Rashad was not beaten to death, he had many injuries and force was still used upon him even when complying.  Rashad's family should sue Officer Galluzo and be able to win because of witnesses surrounding the incident and reliable videos that were also taken at the incident.

The physical injruies were so bad to the point he had to be hospitalized. If this played out in real life, there would be a chance of him getting kicked off the force, but it would be an even smaller chance if he was both kicked off and charged. This is due to his race, the book states he is white. He has lower chances of getting higher punishments due to his skin color. However, in times right now, I feel like Paul wouldn't get a lot of consequences. I feel like he would rather be off from his job for weeks. Which would be a horrible thing if he did get something minimal. But, many people would be enraged to hear this, so there could be a lot of influence by the public. Not only influence by the public, but the witnesses being the public.
