The most interesting thing i’ve learnt is that there is a castle located in Ireland between Dublin and Limerick city nicknamed the Bloody church. A legend says that in the 15th century, there was a family called the O’Carrolls. They fought for a leadership of the family and one of the brothers (a PRIEST) killed his brother in front of the whole family while he was saying mass. It’s now believed to be the most haunted castle in the world.

The Aran Islands, located two hours by ferry from Galway City, are a group of three small islands with a population of 250. They feature stone cottages, walls, and narrow roads, and the locals speak Irish. Inishmore, the largest island, is home to the prehistoric fort Dun Aengus. The famous Aran sweaters originated here.

Leap Castle, between Dublin and Limerick, is Ireland’s most haunted castle. In the 1500s, an O’Carroll brother killed his priest brother during mass. The castle’s secret dungeon, discovered in the 20th century, contained human skeletons.

Skelig Islands are small islands on the south-west of Ireland. They are known for ruined remains of christian monastery. It was inhabited by monks. To get to the monastery, you need to climb up hundreds of steps from the seaside where boats land. Skellig Islands are also home for seals, seagulls and ranging from March to September also for Puffins. On the first glance the Skellig Islands surprise guests by the high cliffs. It is however not advices for children to visit because the steps to the monastery are pretty dangerous.

Darmovzal

The video explores Skellig Michael, a remarkable island off the Ring of Kerry in County Kerry, Ireland, known for its stunning cliffs and rich marine and bird life. It highlights the island’s historical significance as the site of a 6th-century monastery built by monks over 600 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. These monks created hundreds of steps carved into the cliffs to connect their stone huts and churches with the ocean below. The video emphasizes the seasonal presence of puffins, which are a major attraction, alongside seals and dolphins that can be spotted during boat tours around the smaller island, Little Skellig. Access to Skellig Michael is limited to fewer than 180 visitors per day, requiring reservations due to its fragile ecosystem and challenging conditions. The journey to the island includes a rough sea crossing, and climbing the ancient steps can be dangerous, making it unsuitable for young children or those unprepared for strenuous activity. Overall, Skellig Michael is portrayed as one of Ireland's most beautiful and historically significant sites, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and ancient heritage.

The Troubles was a violent conflict in Northern Ireland from the late 1960s to 1998. It involved clashes between mainly Catholic nationalists, who wanted Northern Ireland to join the Republic of Ireland, and mainly Protestant unionists, who wanted to remain part of the United Kingdom. The conflict resulted in over 3,500 deaths. It ended with the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, which established a power-sharing government and reduced violence, though tensions still exist today.

Ireland is an island which is divided in two parts these days - The Republic of Ireland and The North Ireland (as a part of The Great Britain). Back then, Ireland had been united and the whole island became part of the UK. They didn't get along well (English people were Catholics, Irish mostly Protestants). But during the 20th century, Ireland successfuly left the UK and Northern Ireland wanted to follow, however without success. Also, when the UK left the EU, there were speculations, if Ireland will get even more divided or not, however there is no border on the land today.
