Mission Statement
The aim of the members of the Feminist Space Community (FSC) is to build each other up, to help each other grow and ensure we are all contributing as best we can. To us, community is about the group as a whole, not ourselves as individuals. Through sharing of experiences and information, we will cultivate a safe and respectful environment for all community members.
The Feminist Space Community aims to create a safe space where members feel comfortable reaching out to each other should we not understand the item of discussion. Opinions of all members will be respected as we work through our learning goals and weekly activities.
On our personal journeys of feminist self-discovery, we will encourage and support each other, through sharing ideas and knowledge. By doing this, we will all achieve our goals, both mutual and personal. This sharing of knowledge will give us the chance to experience new perspectives and gain insights into ideas we may not have previously considered.
We strive to merge liberal and radical feminism together, as they fight for the same cause. We wish to combine these two areas of feminism together to shape our community. We aim to support and uplift our fellow community members through active listening and respect of opinions as we believe these are feminist values.

Guiding principles for our community
When discussing a topic, members are expected to consider the thoughts and opinions of others prior to the final conclusion or decision on a particular topic. By practising this, we ensure all members feel heard, respected and valued.
While doing so, we ask all members to keep an open mind, as we believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should feel safe to say what they wish. The Feminist Space Community will hold each other accountable, while keeping an open, non-judgemental mind.

Expectations of Members
We recognise respect is a pillar of the community, as we strive not only to respect the views of its members, but also each other’s time. Members are expected to arrive at the weekly meeting having completed the lectures and recommended reading, ready to share their opinions and thoughts.
Members of the Feminist Space Community are expected to be on time so we as a community can make the best possible use of our time together. For the same reason, we also ask all members to keep the conversation moving forward, not to keep discussing the same topics to the point of over explaining and becoming repetitive.
