The concept of the doctoral summer school is so important for emerging researchers and it was calming to be met with such support for everyone's projects and processes.

However, dividing the viewing audience into two rooms was less appealing as the audience (students and academics alike) did not receive the benefit of seeing the entirety of the student projects.

The feedback in the sessions for my own project and for others helped me adjust and reconstruct a stronger plan for my thesis. The event organizers clearly went to significant lengths to make the program a smooth, welcoming, and safe place for sharing our ongoing work.

It might have been beneficial to have everyone present once and have the entire group together.
