My Flow in health care!

When I read back to the textbook in chapter 10 about flow, it instantly reminds me of the connection I have with health care, I love my job as a medical assistant more than any job I’ve ever tried out. I used to work at a car wash and I just couldn’t see a future with that, then I went to an oil change and tried it out due to my interest in cars growing up and how knowledgeable I am when it comes to knowing how to work on a car. At first, I thought being an oil change technician would be a career choice for me but I realized I was just convincing myself to like it and I ended up hating the job and being extremely fatigued every day, I simply didn’t enjoy the car industry I lost all my love for it and my interests shifted to health care and nursing, I got a job as a medical assistant and decided to try it out and it was the best decision I’ve ever made, I always loved helping people and helping be the one to make a difference, ever since I started this job I’ve worked every day the office is open and I get more excited to learn new things every day I go in, I see this as my career choice, it just feels right for me and gives me the motivation to work hard and become a nurse. Back at my old shift I’d dread the time and be excited to be off but at my new job with healthcare I get excited every day to work and don’t even realize the time, I’m eager to learn more by the day. I remember my first day as a medical assistant I was worried I’d never find a job I could get a flow with and enjoy but from my first day to now I’ve loved every moment of this job, I go to work with a smile and leave with an even bigger one. I’m glad I found a job that connects with my personality and work ethic and I hope to get further into this field and become a nurse!

Chapter 13 and 14

From chapter 13 (378) I noticed many older people become unhappy with not being able to be productive and active, I plan on making a difference to this by being physically active and lifting weights for the rest of my life, I grew up being less active and less fit than others and that brought me down and most likely gave me high chances of having issues with health conditions growing up and being unable to move, ever since I changed my lifestyle to eating on a clean diet, going on runs, and lifting weights I feel better and stronger as a person physically and mentally, the way I see me living my life to the fullest is by continuing this and fixing my diet as it still does lack a little, but at work I see many patients in their 80s to 90s who still look fit and don’t show any sign of aging and it’s impressive to me, from their advice they eat clean and go on walks and the gym which I see as the best way to live life to the fullest because being unable to move and depending on others and assistant as I’m older just doesn’t suit who I am.

After completing my real age test, I got the result of my age being 2 years and 5 months younger than my real age!

I learned quite a lot of important things, to myself I don’t even consider myself 19, It sounds a lot older than I look and act, I’m pretty mature for my age but I still have my fun and act around my age but many people think im still 17-18 years old because of my babyface and personality, The two things I learned are mental health and physical health are the most important, avoiding smoking and alcohol although I’ve been around them a lot lately on vacations is gonna benefit me as I age, these lead to bad health conditions and looking older than your age physically and mentally, they can also affect skin conditions which give off bad skin condition. Also diet is huge to me, I make sure to eat a diet that is rich in vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins to avoid looking out of shape and to benefit my health growing up maintaining a nice physique. Regulating exercise is another important thing I learned, I didn’t really keep track of how much I exercise a week or how long I typically just go with the flow but from now on to better myself I will be setting goals and certain exercise times to maintain good health and look my age and possibly even younger as I age.

My life expectancy is 98!

After completing my test I’m expected to live another 79 years until the age of 98! I expected this to be the result, maybe a couple of years ago no, due to my terrible diet and activity, as I used to weigh 260 pounds and ate terrible foods for me due to not knowing how important a “real” diet is and physical activity always scared me back then because how quickly I’d run out of breathe. Two important things I’ve learned are how important nutrition and physical activity are, and avoiding things such as alcohol and smoking. I’ve never smoked or drank alcohol and I understand how beneficial that is towards impacting life expectancy as we age, with the possibilities of cancer and liver damage and physically looking terrible from these. Also, eating a rich diet including vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins will benefit one's health as they age and allow them to be more active when they’re older. Lastly, exercising almost every day was another thing I learned, how important this is to benefit one's health.

I could definitely see myself helping people find solutions to their life problems while hearing them out and making them know I'm there for them, I truly enjoy that and helping bring joy to people and not letting anyone around me be down.

Middle Childhood

In my opinion, Middle Childhood was the most ideal and definitely, my favorite stage that was covered, this stage definitely caught my attention the most because growing up I was a victim of bullying, I got my sources from page 185 in the textbook, during middle childhood is considered our primes and shapes to be how we are, bullying begins happening around this time through cyberbullying, verbally bullying, and overall aggresional behavior. I grew up being a victim of cyberbullying and getting ganged up on for my weight and it definitely takes a toll on self-confidence and behavior growing up, luckily I was able to lose weight and slowly gain most of my confidence back but there's still moments where I lose confidence with my body and I'll always fear gaining weight again and getting bullied again. I hope no one goes through this during their middle child hood and I believe this is the most ideal because growing up from this stage is what makes us who we are.

Class Feedback!

While taking this course I overall loved every part of it, summer classes go by quickly but with this course it felt like there was more than enough time provided to complete all assignments, the class was very interesting and the discussion boards were fun to complete! I'd definitely recommend this class for anyone who asks me if they should take it. Now there wasn't really much that I didn't enjoy or like during the class but if I had to list one thing I would just say the grading scale being easier to read, me downloading the grade scale and putting down my own grades for each I wasn't a huge fan of. Besides that overall this was definitely one of my favorite courses I've taken and I enjoyed and put in 100% effort in all my assignments, my last discussion board and this one took me at least 5 hours to complete but I had fun every moment of it!
