John is the rebellious character in the movie The Breakfast Club. He consistently argues with authoritative figures as is seen in the video clip. He acts impulsively to satisfy his desires and bring himself pleasure, representing the ID. He only cares about himself and makes fun of other people and their problems because it makes him feel better. He tries to fight Andrew and makes fun of others in order to satisfy his ID's aggressive tendencies as well.

Andrew is the athlete of the group. His dad wants him to wrestle, so he does. He continues to wrestle despite not wanting to because he has been taught by others that he must do certain things which do not bring him pleasure in order to please others. The Superego is about acting in order to fit in with social standards and behaviors reflecting what one has been taught. When John tries to fight him, although angry, he uses his self-control which has been taught to him by others and does not fight John.

BRIAN JOHNSON, the EGO

Brian represents the ego. The ego is the balance between one's ID and superego. He demonstrates this position when John hits his hand and rather than fighting back or getting angry he turns away. He also comes between others while they begin to fight, although doesn't do so aggressively as he continues to respect everyone. This demonstrates the ego because he fulfills certain aspects of the superego and ID in order to create a balance of both, the ego.
