Brewarrina is a small town on the Barwon River in Ngemba Country. It is also the site of the world's oldest surviving human-made structure, the Brewarrina Fish Traps or Baiame's Ngunnhu.

The location is UNESCO World Heritage List. The Eel Traps are dated to be 6,000 years old and is one of one hundred significant Australian engineering achievements featured in Wonders Never Cease, a book celebrating Engineers Australia centenary year in 2019.
