When I think of the word “new” in new media I think of media in the modern world. For example Podcasts and social media are the first two that come to mind. I decided to enroll in this class because I took 201 and really enjoyed it. My expectations from this course are to further expand on my knowledge of the complex digital world and so on.

I have many worries about my internet privacy. This stems from a lot of the facebook stuff about people information being sold. Personally, I am really worried that it will not change and many other social media sites will follow in the facebook ways. I feel that overtime people have become less worried about privacy because all this stuff about facebook is public knowledge and yet people still use it daily. I am also someone that uses social media sites that do not fully protect your information even though I know the consequences.

The hype about new media has come around X (twitter). I think twitter has a lot of hype because of what Elon is doing to allow all forms of messages and no censoring. Another high interest thing would be AI because AI has changed our digital media a huge amount. It has changed our integrity in the media because Ai can now generate full conversations and think fully for it self. I wouldn't say AI is for the worse but I wouldn't say it for the better. It is a neutral sort of technology advancement.

I would fully agree that dependance on mobile devices is negative. I have seen that a few generations younger than me have already missed out on so much of the non-technological experiences I did. I was with my cousin who is 15 and I am 19 he told me that he has had a phone and averages 6-7 hours daily on it. That basically means half of the hours he is not sleeping are spent using this device. he also told me that he got his phone when he was 8 when i got mine for my 16th birthday. I think the times have changed and for the worse, children should be going outside and enjoying nature and getting into a bit of trouble. Instead they are sitting on the couch using a phone or device all day.

The study of Alridge and colleagues intrigued me quite a lot. This is because it seems that the study was ahead of its time. For example it exploring into things like the publics trust in media even though digital media was such a new idea at this time. I find it quite fascinating that this study jumps into information and work that seems much ahead for its time. Three main social capitals might be Bonding social capital. This refers to relationships and networks of people. next would be bridging social capital. This is all about the connections and networks between groups of people from different ethnic, economic or social backgrounds. Lastly, would be linking social capital. this refers to relationships of individuals and groups alongside that of positions of power like government and leader.

I think that Ai will transform these industries drastically because A.I is made up of many different human idea compiled and able top think for itself. This will make the A.I able to think and create new idea and things. The challenges will be coming up with unknown and extremely different idea's because A.I is a thinking/search engine of Human knowledge and ideas. I feel it will struggle to come up with super new and different ideas. The benefits will be the brain storming ability. For example, you come up with a general idea and use A.I to delve deeper and help complete all your work.
