1. Participation is a strength of my district's central office. Our principal and specialists do an awesome job doing everything they can to make our job as teachers easier and more proficient.

1. Allocating resources is one of the strengths of my district's central office. I believe my district provides teachers with the necessary resources to implement effective instruction. The central office also does a great job of maximizing the teachers in the building so that each staff member is contributing to the overall goal of increasing student learning and well-being.

2. Something my district could work on is communication. Communication occurs often between teachers and parents, as well as between administration and parents; however, I believe more communication between teachers and administration is necessary.

One thing my district does well is allocating resources. I have always felt supported and given the correct and necessary resources to plan instruction. This helps make teachers job easier as we know where exactly to look and that the information we are given is valid and beneficial to our instruction.

Something that my district could do better is with modeling. Although we are given great resources to use, I think myself and other teachers would benefit from seeing how these resources could be used directly in the classroom. This could be shown through example videos, other teachers, or from the administration giving ideas.

1. One thing that my district does well is providing us with resources to use- especially reading. Our administration has provided us with many mentor text to support our standards, as well as many center activities we can implement when we are in small groups.
2. An area where my district could do better in is modeling and communicating how to use all the materials they have provided for us. I am a visual learner, so by seeing how exactly we should be using the different materials would be very effective.

1. Learning alongside/participation is something my school does well. My school is smaller since it is a Catholic school so I feel our principal always makes an effort to visit classrooms and learn with the students as well as be a witness to teachers and help them with any questions they may have about their instruction.
2. Something my school lacks is communication. My school does a lot of one-on-one meetings with both teachers and students which I think is very helpful but we lack having discussions to help each other and learn from each other. I think we would benefit from being grouped together and having mandated assessment meetings to discuss what seems to be working and what is not.

1.Communication/Support is one thing my school does well. I teach at a Catholic School and there are smaller class sizes and a different atmosphere compared to a public school or a school part of a district. My principal makes a conscious and daily effort to "pop in" to every teacher's classroom to see and check in on how they and the students are doing and what the class is learning that day. She is a strong communicator when it comes to daily instruction in the classroom and through weekly updates to the staff and families.
2. Something my school could work on is looking at student, group, and large-scale data. Data is analyzed and implemented differently in my school setting than that of a public school or a school a part of a district due to the absence of state-wide mandates, etc. I think it would be beneficial if my school shared this data more with all grade-level teachers, not just ones specific to the testing, to gain a better understanding of the results and data. I am still very new to testing procedures, analyzing data, and administering tests but would like to learn more about how this data is utilized and interpreted in my school.

Allocating recourses is one things my school dose well. With limited resources, the teachers and administration have to think how to use recourses in multiple ways. This can happen with sharing and discussions on best use of what our school has. Something my school is lacking, is in communication of data (e.g. data meetings). My school works from a top up, and a bottom up approach that really dose not meet in the middle with collaboration on data.

One of the responsibilities related to central office with which the central office in my district does well is communication. The superintendent sends monthly letters to inform staff of various matters. Furthermore, the supervisor of elementary curriculum and instruction provides teachers with information regarding assessments as well as resources that can be utilized to enrich instruction and learning. However, the central office in my district could do better in the area of examining data. Central office seems to focus on large-scale data. While this is useful, members of central office should make efforts to familiarize themselves with classroom data as well in order to acquire additional information regarding specific students' strengths and areas needing improvement.

1. One thing my school does well is collaboration within the different grade levels. Teachers will meet once a month with the same grade levels across different building to meet and see how things are going and collaborate about the scope and sequence of the curriculum.
2. One thing my school can do better is analyzing the data provided by the benchmark assessments and making authentic interventions for the specific students. We tend to group students together, but not for a specific intervention. We should group them together and identify a need, and provide strategies and skills for that need.

I think central administration at least makes sure that they model our Reading Programs for us. I'm not sure I'd say they do a good job. It's possible that I wasn't familiar enough with the programs to judge that.

They don't communicate well. At least, if they are communicating well with my reading specialists, then the reading specialists aren't communicating well with me. I don't know how they use data at all, and I never know the rationale behind any initiatives.

The central office of my school district allocates resources well. Each of our elementary schools has at least two reading specialists, 5 reading support aids, and 2 learning support teachers. We also have access to a wide range of instructional materials and texts. It is clear to me that my administration works to ensure that we have the resources we need.

I would identify an area of improvement for my central office as learning alongside. I feel that there is not a culture of collaboration in analyzing data, identifying goals, and adjusting instruction.

1. One thing my school does well with is we will have data meetings with different grade levels. I am in second grade, and it is interesting to hear what is expected in the upper grades so that maybe I can instruct on something that is missing in the lower grades.
2. Something my school can do better with is communication. Sometimes a directive is given and it is not followed by all. It makes the expectations for the staff confusing.
