Malayan Railways Limited (KTM Berhad) is the country’s first and main railway operator. Built in 1917, its headquarters building features Islamic-Western architectural elements, creating an impression of classic elegance. To me, it represents Malaysia as it witnessed the economic growth and revolutions of the country over the past century. Furthermore, its historical design denotes the history and timeline of our country in a certain way, contrasting Malaysia’s past of being part of a colonised country with its present status as an independent country.

The New Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building with the "payung" (umbrella) roof is truly an iconic landmark for Sarawak. This shot was taken on the 25th of August 2018 when I was walking along the Kuching waterfront. I bumped into some locals making huge bubbles which granted me my opportunity to capture this unique shot of the New Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building with bubbles as the foreground. To me, this photo represents Malaysia through my eyes because Sarawak isn't expressed enough in Malaysia than it should be and  many West Malaysians don't know the hidden gems which can be found in Sarawak. While it was crowded, we can see the rays of light singling out the child from the mass. This picture speaks about how important each child is to a country, because they carry infinite potential for growth: and also how important parents' love is to a child, because that is the catalyst of our growth.  

Our country's future depends on that little girl, and all those like her. That is why I can relate the title to this picture. After all, this is a picture of our future.

Most Malaysians have the misconception about Putrajaya as “a boring city with nothing to see”. I was really taken aback by the breath-taking sights of Putrajaya which I had never ever expected at all.
Coincidently, I captured the moment when “Jalur Gemilang” fluttered into the same frame as the Putra Mosque. Putrajaya in my eyes, is like the spine of Malaysia, supporting our nation and giving hope to the different generations of Malaysia. I hope this photo make people realise the significance of Putrajaya to Malaysia, as a nation full of hope and peace is the Malaysia through my eyes.

Through my eyes, this photo shows that Malaysia is made up of a population that is diverse in terms of religion, race and ethnicity. We are different from each other in more ways than one. From the food we eat to the language we speak, we are different. Despite these differences, we always find a way to live together harmoniously while enjoying it. We don’t consider ourselves Malay, Chinese, Indian or any other race, we are Malaysian. (77 words)

The live night market scenario printed on one of the pages in our “Bahasa Malaysia” textbooks when we were young; diligent hawkers shouting to attract customers, with stalls full of local food and drinks. We could also see one of the national treasures of Malaysia - the Bornean Orang Utans appearing in our Science textbooks.
Why did I mention the textbooks in school? That’s because those textbooks, published in our country Malaysia, were one of our precious memories from childhood. This is the first country I have visited with magnificent combination of high-rise buildings in avant-garde style and exotic trees whose number outweighs 650.000 pieces. One of them is the ornamental shrub which is a novelty for me when I came across recently in city center.

I like how the beating of the waves by the cruise bot illustrate how YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman rode his car convoy and headed from Ayer Keroh to the Padang Pahlawan (Padang Merdeka) at Melaka just to announce our Independence Day to the public which falls on 31 August 1957.This was actually a random picture that I took despite the blazing sun that blured my vision but because the picture was took randomly it was the flag that highlighted the whole picture. Just like our multicultural, multiracial and the mother tongues we speak it was the “randomness” that makes us Malaysian.

In it, we see the loud cheers of the 'Dewan' of students aging 13-17.

Through my eyes, I see Malaysia maturing as time progresses. Every ticking of the clock, I can visualise the promising youths playing their efforts and dreams in contribution to this developing nation. Whether it be representing the Jalur Gemilang in the sports scene, materializing in the music biz, modernising local tech and even small roles like street food vendors that make your mee goreng for RM2.00.
