"Coraline" is a book based on the mysterious adventures of a young girl named Coraline. When she and her family moved into a new house, Coraline discovered a locked door that lead into an alternate universe. In this upside down world, she realizes that it's a mirror image of her current life. The house, the people, her surroundings were all the same...except, better! Throughout the book Coraline realizes her utopia was more sinister than she imagined. The more dangerous it became, she grew determined to fight and escape her twisted new world, and return to the mundane life desperately longed for again. Coraline will eventually realize that her dream of returning home will be slim to none. I really enjoyed the book Coraline because of how "spooky" it was. That particular factor made it so much easier for me to read the text. What I also like about Coraline is all the conspiracy theories surrounding various parts within the book and movie. One of the biggest conspiracies is that Coraline was actually never able to escape the upside down world, and that her soul was taken by The Beldam. Needless to say, there's a lot that can be discussed about this book. I enjoyed it a lot.
