The Thomas Edison quote that books will soon be obsolete in schools. I mean, it is crazy to think that it might be happening a little already. I remember being in high school and most my classmates used their computers in class while I still wanted to use my notebook. I'm here at grad school and some course have online textbooks. I will admit. I don't know how eager I am about this transition and advances of our technological world. On one hand I like like. On the other hand I'm very much old fashion and would be happy going back to basic technology or before that. Reading the article kinda reminded me of that episode from "Spongebob" where Squidward travels to the future and learns everything is Chrome in the future. (Play on joke, not the same type of Chrome--but still. Think of how far we've come).

I thought is was interesting that although some instructors and parents argue that technology can take away from face to face time, classroom implementation is actually adding to face time and discussion.

I actually saw this in real time today. I saw students working on Chrome Books with partners. They were collaborating, discussing ideas, and researching information relevant to the real world.

i was struck by how much classroom techniques and procedures have changed over time. the thought that paper books could leave the classroom, or world in general, makes me really sad to be honest. however, it is a more sustainable form of learning if you're thinking about the environment. there is also more possibility for interaction with technology and all of its applications, leading to a shift in a more student-centered learning style that could be really beneficial.

I like the idea of how they say constructivism is a "model of learning that asserts knowledge is not passively received, but it is actively created in the mind of every learner." Now in this day in age, technology has become an important integration in the classroom. I personally think that if it is used correctly, a classroom can benefit from the use of technology alongside of the lesson plan.

I always though that technology in the classroom was not good for the children, but I have learned that using technology gives kids a way to learn in a new way while also keeping them updated in the world. We are moving into a technical world, so the children should be able to learn with what we are using outside of the classroom. They are more engaged and willing to learn and able to work with each other more
